What desktop comuputer (or chip) will confer me the most speed for the the smallest cost?

My out-of-date Compaq Presario Pentium 3 Celeron is too too slow for internet connections.

Would Intel D processor desktops selling for $549 range be a perfect choice?

Is the additional $200 for Intel `Viiv Technology' worth it?

What desktop comuputer (or chip) will confer me the most speed for the the smallest cost?

An internet nouns can become slow or stop working due to a number of reason depending on the type of the connection. Many of the problems can be solved by making software change or small hardware corrections. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yl62gz
Heck, forget D. Although D is a good deal, if you want the most speed boost for the lowest amount of money, switch out that crappy celeron for a regular Intel Pentium 4 with HT technology.
You want something contained by this generation of technology. There is no problem the Intel Core 2 Duo. It is the best performance for the price right in a minute.

Viiv is just a marketing plot for a "media center" computer. It doesn't matter too much, the individual components business more.
I think you can find it here.
