hardware = the machinery

software = the programs

Anything that is physically within. Touch and feel. Mouse, keybourd, monitor ect.
I hold heard the peripherals refered to as hardware. Like The printer, the scanner etc. Outside attachments.
Motherboard, Hard Drive, Power Supply, CDRom and any other parts installed inside your computer.
The hardware is exactly that. It is the luggage, memory, drives, monitor, and central processor to dub some, but not all. There are also hardware cards inside the baggage. An example of that would be a graphic or see adapter.

Its sturdy to explain but an example is your computers BIOS.
