I would suggest an alternate piece of software. Real is a pos. Check out VLC Player. It is free, unfurl source, and plays just roughly speaking anything. And runs on most OS's.

It plays just roughly speaking everything. Before, I had a unyielding time trying to play some of the files i've downloaded from the net. Now, I freshly use MPlayer. It does the trick. It's user interface is not that nice though, but hey, if it works, why not use it?"U
