what determines how in a hurry a PC is overall?

My friend have a junk dell beside 2 processers running at 2.3ghz I think and he other brags about that but the PC still seem slow to me. Nothing like a Falcon NW or Voodoo.

what determines how in a hurry a PC is overall?

Voodoo is okay, but I estimate Alienware is a lot better.

As far as what make a pc hastily, fast contained by what way, you own operating speed, download speed, etc... AMD has a front side bus of 2000 while Intel is 1066ghz. The top of the rank AMD dual core is almost as good as the Intel quad. At lowest possible on the specs I have read. If you stack an AMD and overclock it similar to Intel did, It blows away Intel. But I digress. You also have your gpu. NVidea is an excellent gpu. Also if you hold a 10,000 rpm hard drive, that help. There are several factors involved. And also your run into. At least 2 gigs of knock against these days beside the new games and such. I infer that covers most of it, I may have missed something.
it depends on how mutch stuff is installed of how much memory!
Depends on what you are referring to anyone fast. Overall it is the combination of processor, memory and tricky drive. If your friends hard drive(s) are overloaded and or fragmented it will be slow whenever it have to acquire info from the hard drive. You can hold a Pentium 3 with plenty memory and a clean intricate drive seem to run as express as a newer comp with a cluttered concrete drive.

On the flip side, applications that rely on the processor he will be much faster i.e. gaming, video editing etc...

P.S. processor speed is overrated for the average computer user and the difference in everyday computing will be minimal.
